Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, our representative outside customs and immigration hall will meet you. He will then introduce you to your driver guides who will transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. On arrival at the hotel you will check in followed by late dinner.

Today you will have breakfast, start your 5 Days Rwanda Expedition with Kigali City tour and later transfer to Musanze, on arrival you will check in at your lodge followed by lunch. After lunch, you will transfer to visit the twin lakes of Burela and Ruhondo. Not far from Musanze you find the magnificent lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Closer to the gorilla's home, Lakes Burera and Ruhondo are real gems and a must see! Their deep blue water is surrounded by high hills. From these come immense waterfalls that decorate volcanoes in a spectacular way. Through splendid excursions in the "land of a thousand hills", you discover unforgettable beauty, sublime colors and a fantastic universe of lakes Burera, Ruhondo.
You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Early in the morning at 06:00 am you will have breakfast and transfer to RDB park offices for golden monkey trekking briefing that takes place at 07:00 am. You will then start your walk at 8:00 am.

There are two habituated groups of Golden Monkey, one group comprises around 80 – 100 members and has its home at the foot of Mt Sabyinyo. As with treks to see the Mountain Gorillas, treks to see the Golden Monkeys take place in the mornings and visitors are permitted to stay for 1 hour with the monkeys.

After golden monkey trekking, you will return to the lodge for lunch. You will enjoy cultural entertainment at ibyi iwacu cultural village in the afternoon.
IBYIWACU CULTURAL VILLAGE is changing traditional perceptions of what constitutes tourism by turning fate into fame through sharing various aspects of rural cultures and livelihoods into tourist attractions and creating income-generating activities for rural poor people that have lived on bush meat, poaching for generations. The village provides tourists experiences beyond wildlife viewing, the people, culture and how they live. The village also gives a chance to the visitors to enjoy the eight different local dances, listen to Gorilla songs, local food preparations, visit the local healer, visit the king’s place and get to hear all the old stories.

Today your day begins with an early – 06:00 am – drive to the Volcanoes National Park offices for Gorilla Trekking briefing that takes place at 7:00 am. You will then start your walk at 8:00 am.
Volcanoes National Park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range and is the home of the rare mountain gorilla and the rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp and heath, but the high point will be spending an hour with the remarkably peaceful gorillas despite their size and appearance as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing, resting and raising their young.

After your trek, you will drive to the Mountain Gorilla view Lodge freshen up before your lunch. This afternoon you will transfer to Lake Kivu and on arrival you will explorer that area.

Enjoy a morning breakfast while watching the sunrise, at 9:00am start your kayaking trip on Lake Kivu. Paddling out onto Lake Kivu we find a picturesque coastline where traditional fishing boats ply the azure waters and lush, verdant hills reach up around us. Go fast or enjoy a gentle pace whist enjoying the silence of the open water and watch for the many birds that dart in and out of bushes along the shoreline.

After lunch, drive back to Kigali and dropped off at the airport for your departure flight back home.
